QAIHC Hearing Health Coordinator Jaymie Lynch was named a semi-finalist in the 7NEWS Young Achiever Awards for Queensland, recognising her contribution to the Youth Hubs Program.

Ms Lynch, a proud Gangulu woman, was nominated by QAIHC’s former General Manager of Sector Development Gregory Richards for the Queensland Family and Child Commission Contribution to Community or Family Safety Award (First Nations), recognising young leaders strengthening culture, community, and safety for children and families.

Her recognition reflects her leadership of the Youth Hubs Program, partnering with ACCHOs to establish 10 culturally safe youth hubs across the state.

Co-designed with communities, these hubs provide safe spaces for young people to access social and emotional wellbeing services, mental health support, health education and cultural programs.

Mr Richards said: “Jaymie has led the establishment of culturally safe Youth Hubs across Queensland, empowering Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people to stay connected to culture, community, and strong futures.”
