AFLW star and QAIHC ambassador Ally Anderson took part in a photo and video shoot promoting the importance of flu vaccinations in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities across Queensland.
The shoot was led by Jackson Canuto and QAIHC Immunisation Coordinator Bo de la Cruz, with a theme encouraging families to get vaccinated ahead of flu season. It also highlighted the role of immunisation in protecting Elders, children, and vulnerable community members.
Ms de la Cruz said Ally Anderson was a great role model to carry the message of the benefits of immunisation.
“Ally’s support reinforces the importance of keeping up to date with vaccinations and being informed about how they keep individuals, families and whole communities safe,” she said.
“We’re really grateful to have Ally here. As an AFLW player, she has such a strong influence, especially with young people.
“Flu vaccinations are one of the most important ways we can protect our communities and reduce serious illness each year, especially for our Elders and children.”
