Clinical Leaders Forum strengthens connections in the ACCHO sector

QAIHC’s 2026 Clinical Leaders Forum brought together clinical leaders, health professionals and sector partners for two days of learning, discussion and collaboration on the issues shaping Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander primary health care in Queensland. Held at QAIHC in South Brisbane from 27–28 April, the forum featured topics highlighting the range of issues ACCHOs have to manage day to day.

QAIHC launches online resource to support doctors in ACCHO sector

A new online resource has been developed for health professionals entering the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community controlled health organisation (ACCHO) sector. The ACCHO Sector Orientation Learning Resource preserves the stories and legacy of the leaders who helped to build the sector. It gives doctors, specialist trainees and other health professionals a practical, self-paced introduction to the sector’s history, values, model of care and cultural foundations. This will help them begin work in the sector with greater confidence, respect and cultural safety.

New program to strengthen First Nations leadership launched in Queensland

QAIHC, in partnership with Griffith University, has officially launched the Executive Indigenous Leadership Program (EILP), aimed at strengthening executive leadership capability across Queensland’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community controlled health sector. Delivered by Griffith Business School’s Griffith Advantage executive education business, the EILP has been co-designed with ACCHO leaders to build the capability of current and emerging sector executives.
